Photo kit

Photography checklist

24-70mm equivalent for coast-road pullouts and town scenes.

ND filter for wave movement at Shitiping and Sanxiantai.

Polarizer for bright sea, wet rocks, and green rice-field contrast.

Compact tripod for bridge sunrise and blue-hour harbor work.

Rain cover; east coast weather can turn quickly even in good seasons.

Strategy

Field notes

Highway 11 is the coastal spine; the East Rift Valley makes a calmer inland return.

October to April usually gives cooler road-trip weather, but typhoon aftermath and local closures should still be checked.

Sleep close to Sanxiantai if the bridge sunrise is a priority.

This route works by rental car, scooter in stages, bicycle with more time, or rail-assisted hops.
